Christmas 2009

Because I'm close to my due date Jared and I got to spend Christmas in Oklahoma with our family coming to visit us. It was nice not to have to travel. I didn't get many pictures but here are a few of the pictures I did get.

Here's Del Enjoying the enormous bone Santa brought him. It was soo big it took him longer to finish it than it took us to finish unwrapping presents! It took him about two hours to finish.

Here's Leanne giving the thumbs up because our Christmas cookies were awesome!!

Our beautiful Christmas cookies that Leanne decorated all by herself... sorry about that Leanne. Jacob enjoyed eating a couple of these. A day or two after Christmas Del enjoyed digging the majority of them out of the trash and being bloated on sugar cookies for a few days to follow.

Jacob enjoying the fruits of his labor after helping me roll out the cookie dough and cutting out the shapes.

34 Weeks

I don't really know why I look soo uncomfortable in this picture... Jared and I are in for an exciting two weeks. On Tuesday my sister Leanne and nephew Jacob will arrive to spend Christmas with Jared, Del, and I. Then the following Monday all of Jared's family will arrive to spend a few days with us. Jared and I are both a little sad we don't get to go home to Colorado for the holiday, however, we are both thankful that we have family that is willing to come and visit us. And we're happy to not have to make the long drive!

33 or 35 weeks

I got to spend nearly two weeks in Colorado with my family at Thanksgiving which was great. However, taking my weekly picture slipped my mind.
I had a doctors appointment last week and was told that I'm still progressing as if I am farther along than we originally thought, but still no official changes to the due date.

Jared and I took a prepared childbirth class this past Saturday. It was alright, not too much we hadn't already read in pregnancy books but a lot of videos! Jared handled seeing the birth videos a little better than I did. He told me I looked deflated after watching the first one. I'm definitely anxious to have that part behind me and just being able to enjoy our baby.

30 Weeks... Maybe 32 Weeks

So, at my last doctor's appointment we were told that little John Kress was a somewhat large baby, weighing 3 pounds. I didn't think to ask until on our car ride home if there was a chance that I could be farther along than what we were thinking. I wrote it down on my list of questions to ask at this last visit. It turns out I was right. Dr. McFadden said that I have consistently measured 15 days ahead of where we thought I was. My official due date is still January 30th, because he said to officially change a woman's due date there needs to be a 21 day variance. Apparently there was some kind of measurement of the baby that should have been taken at my very first appointment when all we could see was the gestational sack, but for one reason or another my first doctor didn't take it. At that point all babies are the same size and the measurement is accurate to within 3 days, at least that's what the Dr. McFadden said.

It's amazing how little time Jared and I have left before we'll actually be holding a little baby that's part Jared, part Mandy!! That thought is a little scary, but a lot exciting.
Also, I hope the doctor is right about me being two weeks farther along, I'm a little tired of being asked if I'm having twins! I'm 5' 1/2" tall, it's only logical that I'm going to have a large belly.

2009 Marine Corps Birthday Ball, OKC

This past weekend Jared and I celebrated the 234th birthday of the Marine Corps in Oklahoma City. Unfortunately neither Jared or I thought to take many pictures. This first picture is of all the Lieutenants stationed at Vance for Primary pilot training.

This picture is our last minute shot of us all dressed up. My friend Sara was kind enough to send me a dress that she wore as a bridesmaid when she was seven months pregnant. It's not the greatest picture of Jared or myself, but it's all I've got.

We did stay in a really nice hotel in the middle of downtown OKC. The lesson I learned from our stay: beware the mini bar!! I accidentally charged 12 dollars to our room just by touching  something in the fridge. Everything was attached to these stupid sensors that I didn't even know the fridge was equipped with until after I shut the door. At least it was only 12 dollars.

29 Weeks

I had a check up this past Wednesday, Veterans Day, and Jared was able to come with me and meet our new doctor. The visit went well, nothing terribly exciting, except when I asked him what baby John is weighing he said 3 pounds!! He's in the 80th percentile for weight. Hopefully I don't have to deliver a 10 pound baby!

28 Weeks

Jared and I had a nice relaxing weekend. We went to dinner on Friday night at Chili's, one of the very few places to go eat at in Enid. Saturday we took Del out to play ball then watched the Navy vs. Notre Dame game. In case you didn't watch Navy beat Notre Dame for only the second time in the past forty years, Jared was very excited.
Pregnancy continues to be very kind to me. I have no complaints. However I will soon be saying good bye to having an innie belly button. Two more weeks at the most and I'll have an outie, which makes me somewhat sad.
Next weekend is the Marine Corps Birthday Ball, which we will be attending in Oklahoma City. I'll be sure to put up the pictures as soon as we get home.
